Men's Ministries
Harvest Temple men’s ministry aims to build up and empower its men to fulfil their God given purpose. We stand upon the Biblical principles outlined in Philippians 2: 5 – 7.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men”
The Ministry will therefore develop our men through the regular study of God’s word and allow the word to shape us into becoming men of purpose, not seeking a worldly reputation but to develop a Christ-like servant attitude that will positively impact the church, our families and local community.
The department is innoviative in its approach using 4 themes and additional activities to help drive the programme forward.
- 1. Healthy Living Lifestyle: A range of practical activities and theoretically based sessions are used to inform men about health issues and to encourage them to make better lifestyle choices.
- 2. The Importance of Fellowship: There is a great emphasis placed on the men within the church to regularly get together in a social setting where they can develop relationships with one another. Sessions may include, film nights, bowling, eating out etc.
- 3. Getting into The Word: The men meet on a fortnightly basis to study the Word of God to ensure they have a good understanding of what God requires of us as men. These sessions in the main are group type discussions but on occasions may have more of a teaching/ lecturing approach. Prayer breakfasts/ prayer meetings will also come under this theme.
- 4. Community Outreach: A range of activities/ events will be organized to enable us to do ministry within the community. Activities of a sporting nature, BBQ’s and various fundraising events will be used to encourage engagement and interaction.
We believe that this approach will not only build up the men within the church walls but will also enable us to reach men who are absent from Christ.
